Press Release

Exhibit will highlight second level of Care Creations™ brand and launch nine new personal care ingredients

FLORHAM PARK, NJ, May 9, 2013 BASF will feature its latest personal care technologies and innovative market concepts in booth 301 at the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) Suppliers’ Day on May 14-15 at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition center in Edison, New Jersey. The event draws more than 3,000 chemists and managers from personal care companies in the northeast region.

Backstage Pass to Care Creations™ Innovative market concepts inspired by 2015 trends

Backstage Pass to Care Creations™ is based on extensive research that revealed top beauty trends, color schemes and consumer needs for 2015. The concept was developed using varying combinations of BASF product formulations in all industry categories. Backstage Pass to Care Creations™ will be presented throughout show in an hourly video presentation in booth 301. Live makeup and hair demonstrations will take place on Tuesday at 11:00am and 2:00pm. Several formulations will be available for demonstration on the exhibit floor and listed in the second edition of Creations Magazine that will be distributed during the event.

“Backstage Pass To Care Creations™ builds on the success of our 2012 runway model presentation ‘Get the Look’ which showcased innovative formulations to create looks based on forward looking trends,” said Al Pearce, Sr. Marketing Manager, BASF Personal Care North America. “This year, we are demonstrating our latest innovations by providing our customers a unique ‘backstage pass' presentation that provides a behind-the-scenes perspective to the preparation of a runway show using our latest formulations based on beauty trends we will see in 2015.”

The booth presentation will revolve around the second level of the Care Creations™ brand launch, which shifts the focus towards observing consumer needs by analyzing market research data and using BASF’s science excellence to transform them into real-life innovative products.

Get the Look 2.0

Visitors at the booth will be able to view Get the Look 2.0, the new virtual makeover application from BASF Care Creations™ that showcases the beauty trends featured at the show in addition to several other BASF formulations.
